WEAKNESSES: - Foals, Gentleman-like Stallions, and Protective Mares HISTORY: It was a warm, rainy spring evening and under the flashing lightning and rumbling thunder a beautiful red-chocolate Rocky mare galloped slowly, her robust abdomen getting in her way, making it hard for her to move as gracefully as she used to, not that she blamed Monster alone as it was both their fault that Corin was now in this position. Finding a sheltered spot in the beautiful emerald grasses she gratefully lay down on her side, it wasn’t going to be too much longer and she would be welcoming a couple new additions to the world. She should have been excited, but she knew that their arrival would be the end of her life. She hoped Monster would be there soon, and she hoped he was bringing Aarah with him. Her pain was clear on her face, as the rain began to subside, the first addition was on the ground, a beautiful dusty red-chocolate colt. She did her best to clean and dry him up but did not get too far as the second addition was struggling to greet the world. She heard hoofbeats and silently thanked her Deity that Monster had come. He barreled into the clearing and skidded to a halt as the gorgeous palomino loped gracefully to his side. “Corin…” the sleek red-chocolate stud murmured softly as he stepped to her side and nuzzled her sweat soaked neck. “Monster. I’m…glad you’re here…Aarah…” “She’s here to Corin.” Corin smiled gently. “Good. Aarah…” the palomino moved into the downed mare’s line of sight, “Oh Corin…” Corin lifted her head a little as she gave the final push to bring the second to the world. “Aarah, take care of our children…keep them safe.” The palomino nodded as she looked at the red-chocolate stud, “Monster…” the stud looked at her, his broken heart clear on his face, “Clean up the twins Aarah.” He said softly as his voice cracked and he lay beside Corin. The palomino nodded again and moved to the twins. Finishing cleaning the colt she moved to the frighteningly still filly. Her panic brought the palomino’s mothering instincts to the forefront. “C’mon princess, don’t give up, not now!” Aarah shouted to the red-chocolate filly. She felt the colt begin to nurse and then as she nudged the filly and licked her forehead, the filly stirred. Whinnied soft and brokenly and Aarah helped her up to her feet, the little darling. Soon, the filly joined her twin in his nursing. She looked to the red-chocolate pair and lowered her head as she watched the stud drape his head over the mare’s shoulders. “Oh Monster…I’m so sorry.” The red-chocolate stud got up and moved to the palomino. “At least her legacy will continue on through these two. Corin and I owe you one Aarah.” The stud said as he nibbled the palomino’s neck gently. She returned his touch and then together the new pair looked at the foals nursing on a surrogate mother. “You two were my best friends growing up Monster, you don’t owe me a thing, just help me make sure the twins grow up strong, I’m afraid this little girl will always have issues, look at her eyes…and when she walked to nurse I saw a limp. She’ll never be as tall as her brother.” Monster approached the filly and took a good look at her. “Together Aarah, we will make sure they both grow up strong and healthy. Let’s go home.” As the lead clouds dispersed, a ray of sun slipped free, illuminated the still form of Corin and the two forms of the romping twins. Aarah and Monster shared a look and smiled, they knew it was Corin’s Deity giving his blessing to the dead mother and her twins. As the twins grew they became more independent and by the age of three, Mistletoe and Reaper struck out on their own, making for a new home herd. The pair will separate eventually, find their own partners and have their own families, but for now, the pair are all but inseparable. EXTRAS: She is completely blind, relying on Reaper and (eventually) her magic to miss harm, she's also smaller than an average Rocky mare as she was the second twin born and also because of being born second, she has a permanent limp on her right foreleg.
